Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Coupling Connect. By creating an account you accept them. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.
Who can use Coupling Connect
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. You may hold only one account, and you must use your real identity — the video call step exists precisely so that everyone is who they say they are.
How the service works
Coupling Connect matches members whose stated criteria align in both directions. Matches progress through a set sequence: a video call, then a first date at a public venue, then feedback from both people. Contact details are exchanged only when both members indicate they want to continue after meeting.
We suggest venues for convenience. We do not inspect, endorse or take responsibility for any venue, and choosing where to meet remains your decision.
Community standards
Using Coupling Connect means agreeing to behave decently. You must not:
- Misrepresent your identity, age, or relationship intentions.
- Harass, threaten, abuse or intimidate anyone.
- Post explicit, hateful, or unlawful content.
- Solicit money, promote a business, or advertise to other members.
- Share another member's private information, photos or messages.
- Use the service for anything other than genuinely seeking a relationship.
The strike system
Coupling Connect depends on people showing up. Strikes are issued when someone doesn't.
A strike may be issued when you:
- Fail to attend a scheduled video call without notice.
- Fail to attend a scheduled date without notice, as reported by your match.
- Do not schedule a video call within seven days of matching.
- Remain inactive across your matches for an extended period.
- Are reported by another member for breaching these terms.
What strikes mean:
- One strike — a warning, shown on your profile.
- Two strikes — a final warning.
- Three strikes — your account is suspended for 30 days.
If you believe a strike was issued in error, contact us and we will review it. Genuine emergencies happen, and we would rather hear from you than penalise you unfairly.
Your safety is your own
We verify that members appear on video before meeting, and we suggest public venues. We do not run criminal background checks, and we cannot guarantee anyone's conduct or intentions.
Take the ordinary precautions: meet in public, tell someone where you're going, arrange your own transport, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. You are responsible for your own decisions about who you meet.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload. You grant us a licence to host and display that content for the purpose of operating the service. You confirm you have the right to share anything you upload.
We may remove content that breaches these terms.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, accrues three strikes, or presents a risk to other members. You can close your account at any time from within the app.
Service availability
We work to keep the service running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may change, and we may modify or discontinue parts of the service.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coupling Connect is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the conduct of any member, whether online or in person. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are significant we will notify you before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
